ROOT CANAL TREATMENT (RCT)

Root Canal Treatment focuses on eliminating bacteria from the infected tooth. When the tooth pulp gets infected beyond repairs, it needs to be removed. The complete removal of pulp and tooth repair is known as RCT. This is a conservative procedure done to save the natural tooth by filling the tooth and covering it with a crown.Saving the tooth helps keep the surrounding bone intact and opposing teeth in ideal position thus preserving the adjacent teeth from collateral damage. Root canal has good success rate due to the use of advanced materials like apex locators, digital X rays to ensure accuracy, rotary instruments, etc.

CROWNS

Crowns are dental restoration used to cover root canal treated tooth. Bridges are used to replace one or more missing or damaged teeth.

Crowns and bridge are fixed restoration, gives a natural look, and does not alter taste sensation, no speech difficulty. Crowns help the teeth to withstand chewing forces and functions like a normal tooth. It completes the sealing of the tooth, preventing breakage of root canal filling and reinfection.
